Thank you for your interest in participating in this research project.
The aim of this research is to pilot a survey of parental attitudes, sense of agency and parenting practices relating to raising children in an environment free from stereotyped gender roles. We want to understand how parents respond to children and navigate stereotypes, as well as their preferences for support.
You will access an online survey regarding your beliefs, attitudes and parenting practices via a secure link. The series of questions will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You will be sent a shorter, follow-up survey in two weeks and again in six weeks.
Your contribution to this study has the potential to provide further insight into effective parenting programs to support parents/carers in creating a healthy environment for their children.
You should not expect any risk from engaging in this project. You will not be asked to disclose any sensitive or personal information. The only likely burden is the time it will take to complete the online survey.
All information collected about you will remain anonymous and confidential where possible. All data will be stored on the UQ Research Management Database and will only be accessible to research team members.
Nothing at all – Your decision to take part, not take part, or take part and then withdraw will not affect your relationship with the University of Queensland or the Parenting and Family Support Centre.
