The quality of family relationships in the home environment can have a long-lasting influence on child development across the lifespan. Family in the context of this research study is defined as a group of people that function together as a unit in the home, focusing on the role parents or guardians play in their child’s life. This research study aims to investigate the behavioural and emotional well-being of family units with children and adolescents between the ages of 0 and 18 years, to better understand the importance of family functioning in raising children.
This study is part of an Honours thesis research at the School of Psychology, Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences, The University of Queensland, Australia. The study procedures have been reviewed by experts and approved by the university ethics committee (also known as Institutional Review Board).
