The transition to school is such an important milestone for children and their families. Both families and schools want to make sure this transition is positive and sets up children well for their future schooling. Yet we know that children, their parents and schools all differ in their capacity to develop the collaborative relationships necessary to support children’s learning and their wellbeing. School entry is the perfect time to address these differences and to establish partnerships between a child’s home and their school.
The Positive School Transition Project (POST Project) has been designed to ensure that all children have a positive start to formal schooling and the opportunity to thrive.
What is POST?
- POST is research project that is trialling an intervention package that includes: Family-School Connect, a new program for school staff to strengthen the home-school partnership
- The Thriving Kids and Parents Seminar Series, three evidence-based Triple P seminars for parents and a complementary webinar for school staff.
Family-School Connect for School Staff
