Thank you for your interest in the Positive School Transition (POST) Project.
The POST Project aims to strengthen the home-school partnership through a collaborative effort to foster the wellbeing and resilience of Australian children, using a shared set of strategies and common language.
We aim to achieve this goal by offering i) an online program for school staff aimed at developing collaborative relationships with parents and ii) three free, online, interactive Triple P – Positive Parenting seminars for parents and complementary webinar and additional resources for school staff.
Offering these free programs through schools provides both parents and school staff with a shared language and set of strategies to support students’ learning and wellbeing – and the skills to work together. Investing in this partnership also decreases teachers’ stress by proactively building collaborative relationships with parents.
The school staff program contains 4 online modules focused on developing a collaborative home-school partnership that you can complete at a time that suits you. Each module takes 50-60 minutes and you can print a complimentary content summary at the end of the modules.
As part of the program, you’ll also be asked to complete three short surveys (around 15 minutes each) to help the POST team learn and improve the program: one before the program, one after completing the program, and one 12 weeks after registration.
Staff from participating schools will have access to a free webinar, that contains a summary of seminar content and a copy of the parent tip sheets from each seminar.
The complementary webinar, presented by Professor Matt Sanders, Professor Vanessa Cobham and Dr Karyn Healy provides you with the principles and strategies from each of the three seminars. This webinar can be accessed here. Ask your school contact for the password.
The detailed summaries of each seminar, outline the strategies that parents can use to develop specific skills children need to thrive. Examples of what these strategies might look like and how these strategies can be used in the classroom are also be outlined.
Example:

Parent tip Sheets summarise the content of each of the 3 seminars.
