SCREENS -
Supporting Children’s Routines, Experiences and Engagement for Navigating Screens

Welcome

Screens have increasingly become part of everyone’s lives, and children are not the exception. Australian and international guidelines suggest that children aged 5 to 12 years should limit their screen time as much as possible, ideally to no more than 2 hours per day. However, many Australian children exceed this time. Healthy screen habits are not just about duration; other factors may be important as well, such as the type of content, where they use it, and with whom.

The Supporting Children’s Routines, Experiences and Engagement for Navigating Screens (SCREENS) project has been designed to evaluate the Healthy Screentime Habits Seminar, which provides parents with evidence-based suggestions to support their children and to work towards their goals regarding healthy screen habits. There is no one-size-fits-all, so the Healthy Screentime Habits Seminar is designed to share strategies that parents can choose from and implement with their children and families.
